July 25th, 2004 - The 64 is near!
Just a quick update. The
Mega 64 site has been updated with info
on the upcoming DVD, being created together with
SomethingAwful.com.
Ive been looking forward to this for quite a while,
so good news :D!
July 24th, 2004 - MAKE IT STOP!!!
First off, new
San Andreas pics and a preview on Gamespot.
Ownage!
Now its time for a little ranting. I am so fucking
tired of these flash movies that desperately try
to be funny. The thing is that with flash movies
you can quickly see when somebody actually had
a funny idea, and also see when people just did
something with the intention of trying to make
it some sort of cult flash movie. It is fucking
pissing me off, and the only thing that pisses
me off even more is the people that just jump
on the wave because some other people find it
funny. I am aware that some people might find
it funny, but I really cant find any sort of humour
in these flash movies.
To be more specific then Im talking about Weebls-stuff.
This is a place where theres like loads of fucking
unfunny movies that people apparently love (the
Badger Badger one, which never was and never will
be funny btw, was from this site). Anyway, none
of these new ones are funny, they are being produced
with the sole purpose of making it for the narrowminded
gits that think something is funny because everybody
else says it is. I know I might have some sort
of highly developed sense of humour, but fact
is that I laugh at good flash movies where there
was a really funny thought behind it.
I used to like the stuff from Weebl, but its gone
sour and isnt funny anymore, and people just dont
get it. I mean sure, everybody has their own sense
of humour, I respect that, but there is nothing
funny in these movies, its just some crap lyrics
with some stupid graphics. Gah!
Anyway, I could go on and on about how I hate
the way the situation of flash movies has gone,
but my point is that some people should think
for themselves instead of just trying to follow
the masses and think something is funny, even
though it isnt.
Btw, this flash from Weebl-stuff called Magical
Trevor is a good example of what I mean.
It isnt fucking funny, its just a situation. Fuck
Im tired of this shit.
Btw note that Weebl
and Bob actually has some funny stuff.
I really liked the original Weebl and Bob.
July 24th, 2004 - Flipperflopflap
I didnt really know what to do so I saw
Hellboy.
Hellboy
Not much to say about this movie really.
Its basically just some demon from hell that was
brought to earth as a child, and has therefore
been sorta tamed into being this demon fighter.
Anyway, some nice action, okay story (The Nazi's
didnt lose the war and are doing all kinds of
paranormal experiments, and are still around in
our present time, which doesnt really make alot
of sense but hell, Nazis are good stuff to kill).
It does however tend to get a bit boring around
the end, but allround then its an okay movie,
nothing special though.

July 23rd, 2004 - Doomilido
I found this this movie(s) on Shacknews
about the history of Doom 3. Some quite nice stuff,
check
it!
Oh, and now Im 100% sure that Im gonna get the
X800 XT :)
July 21st, 2004 - *Sniff*
Gah, I think Im slowly starting to get
a cold. Ive got a really sore throat, and that
usually means that Im gonna wake up snotty the
next morning (Im starting to recognize the sympthoms
:G). I just really hope that I can get past it
without having to take off a couple of days of
work D:!
Anyway, thats all for now (Interesting shit eh?
D:)
Oh yah, Im pretty sure Im gonna get an AMD (wutever,
the fastest thing you can get) and a ATI X800
XT in my Alienware. Pretty sure hmmm.
July 19th, 2004 - Donce Dammit Donce!
Was talking with one of the other mappers
at work (this
is his site btw, free pimpage!) about
iTunes (and Apple stuff in general), and so he
persuaded me into installing iTunes on my computer
at work. I dont know if you remember, but ages
ago my bro installed iTunes on my home computer,
and it TOTALLY fucked up my entire (well organized
mind you) music collection, so I had to spend
a couple of weeks to clean up and reorganize everything.
Anyway, we talked about this, and he said that
you can easily use iTunes without making it mess
all your stuff up. Anyway, its quite funky, but
the best thing about it is that at work, I can
listen to other peoples music when they have iTunes
open. I mean, this is fucking genius! Having the
ability to check out and hear other peoples music
via network is really cool :D
Oh yah, Ive more or less decided on getting a
X800 XT in my Alienware (thats the ATI card in
case you were wondering). Ive been trying to decide
which card to get, and allround I feel that ATI
feels like a better choice. Especially since the
Geforce 6800 Ultra requires a mofo of a power
supply, which most likely means more noise (which
Im trying to avoid this time around).
Anyway, Im planning on ordering the new computer
in the begining of August (so that I'll have the
computer up and running and ready for Doom 3 when
it arrives on August 13th :D).
/me donces into the sunset
July 16th, 2004 - Gamer 4 Life!
Lots of games to look forward to in the
coming months. Been playing a demo of the PS2
version of Burnout
3 at work. Really awesome game, cant wait
to get my hands on that. Its gonna be out in the
end of September, and its certainly one of the
games Im looking most forward to. Also, The
Sims 2. I know lots of people consider
The Sims to be all crap and shit, but in small
doses then I like it. Obviously the people that
play this instead of having a life do have some
problems, but I find it kinda impressive as a
whole. Its kinda fun to make money and buy more
shit, and make stuff work. One problem is that
it always tend to get really linear, but the new
game looks totally incredible, so I hope thats
gonna be the good stuff, end of September with
that one too :)
Oh yah, theres been released some new
movies from Battlefield 2. It does look quite
good, but nothing terribly stunning to be honest.
Check
it if you got Gamespot
Oh and Ive been playing some Codename
Panzers demo, quite nice stuff, you
can get it here
(Man this must suck if you dont have
Gamespot ;D)
July 15th, 2004 - Welcome to your Doom!
Obviously you're already heard that Doom
3 went gold a couple of days ago, so, yeeeah,
cool stuff. It isnt really like Ive been holding
my breath for this one, but Ive really been looking
forward to it. This just means that I gotta get
my new computer very soon in order to play it,
but I guess Ill be fine. I have roughly around
the money I need for the fastest Alienware computer
you can get (which isnt ALX, Im not that stupid/wealthy),
but thing is that Ill use all my money in blow
which does seem kinda extreme perhaps.
Oh yah, my 1941 soundtrack arrived a couple of
days ahead (donno If I updated the site about
it, but I ordered the soundtrack from 1941, JohnnyW
4 life!). Anyway, good stuff, its not so often
that I actually buy music so yeeeeah :)
July 12th, 2004 - Fallout 3 lives!
This
is really good news! I just hope Bethesda
can craft a game worthy of the Fallout name :)~~
July 10th, 2004 - Whriiiiing!
Went to see Spiderman 2 with Iceduckie...
Spiderman 2
And hot damn this movie pwnz! I did have extremely high expectations
for Spiderman 2, but it turned out better than
what anybody could have hoped for. Really amazing
stuff, awesome action scenes, but the thing that
I really like about Spiderman is that he is in
fact just a human, and that hes not this braindead
supernatural being. He has a real personality,
and goes through difficult identity problems,
how when hes not really motivated and his life
as Peter Parker is all fucked up, he doesnt work
well as Spiderman, and I think its totally kickass,
and the exactly right way to make this kinda movie.
This is why pretty much all other comic book based
movies fall to the ground compared to these movies,
Spiderman has depth. Anyway, I dont really know
what to say, its just brilliant. Its got action,
romance, humour, and its just really well made.
You really feel for Peter Parker, and also the
villan of the movie has a real personality, and
you also kinda feel for him as well. Also the
action scenes are truely breathtaking, and the
computer graphics look alot better this time too.
So, this movie is just fantastic. It isnt something
that will make you look upon life in a different
way, but for what could just have been a shallow
action flick then its quite stunning.
Spiderman 2 - 5 out of 5 georfs

July 10th, 2004 - Oh Thievery
Finally got myself pulled together and
I completed Thief: Deadly Shadows...
Thief: Deadly Shadows
Let me first point out (if somebody should
be unaware of this) that I am a HUGE fan of the
Thief games. The original Thief was the first
stealth game where stealth was actually important,
and you life in the game depended on you skills
in avoiding being seen. And you also had alot
of freedom, taking a different approach or path
to what might be a simple task was often possible.
It didnt really have the amount of choices, that
for example Deus Ex had, but it did leave you
some room to think. Anyway, both Thief 1 and 2
are in my book considered to be some of the best
games ever created, and therefore my expectations
for this new game were obviously ridiculiously
high, and although it isnt quite as great as I
had hoped for, then its still a really cool game.
The game is basically about Garrett, a master
thief that is always involved in big things like
saving the world and stuff :). Anyway, this time
around Garrett is involved in a big mysterious
prophecy that the Keepers are investigating (In
short, the Keepers are the guys that Garrett was
once a part off, then he left them and began his
life as a thief instead). In the start of the
game you're on missions involving getting stuff
for the Keepers, but sooner you realize that you
play a bigger part in everything, and that everything
isnt quite as it might have seemed. Anyway, without
spoiling anything, then the story of Thief 3 is
pretty cool.
The graphics in the old Thief games was never
one of its strong points. However they did work
with the game, and that was the most important
thing. In the new game they are using the Unreal
engine (like they did with Deus Ex 2 *guuuuh*).
Since lighting in the Thief games have always
been the core of the gameplay, then the funky
dynamic lighting in Thief 3 is a nice touch. However,
for the most part it the visuals look kinda bland,
and not all that exciting, but it does tend to
look really cool. The problem with the visuals
is that they are way too rough, and seems kinda
rushed. There are however levels that stand out,
and truely look really spooky, and really cool.
One thing that kinda annoyed me was the cutscenes.
In the original Thief games all the cutscenes
were these really impressive animated movies.
There are still some of them in Thief 3, and they
look pretty much as good as they used to, but
they have also added cutscenes using the ingame
graphics (although they are still in movie form),
and these look really crappy to say the least.
I would rather have had only animated movies instead
of this, but I guess you cant have everything.
Overall the graphics of the game mainly look kinda
mediocre, but they do tend to look good with some
places, so its sort of a mixed bag.
The audio has always been important in the Thief
games, its and top noch in Thief 3 as well. All
the voice acting is really good. Lots of the ambient
sounds make the dark city an ever more spooky
place, and the music is in the general Thief series
style. Allround really good stuff.
And then theres the gameplay. Im sorta divided
on this one. They have added the element of having
an entire city that you walk around in between
each mission, to sorta make everything feel more
connected, and make room for some stuff where
you can steal things outside of missions. But
it doesnt work very well though, and after a couple
missions it makes the game kinda boring to be
honest. The idea is cool, but one of the main
points of complaint is that instead of having
everything seamlessly connected, they have these
strange purple portals that you go through when
you have to enter a new area, and it tends to
get really annoying, and sadly they're also in
the regular mission D:! This is obviously because
they cant do a seamlessly connected city with
the Unreal engine, and had to find another way
to do it, and this was probably the only or best
solution. Thing is that I would rather have had
a Thief game without the city parts between the
missions, than with them. They dont add anything
to the game, and they just make the game longer
and less fun. Anyway, the idea is good, its just
kinda crappy executed. Anohter thing that really
bugged me too, was that the AI tends to be really
fucking stupid. Just a small example is that a
guard finds a foe, kills him, then he suddenly
says something like "Somebody killed him,
where did he go!?". It just breaks the illusion
of them being real guards, and makes everything
seem like a joke. Thankfully these small moments
dont happen so often, but they do happen. Overall
the AI is pretty good btw.
Anyway, enough with teh negative shit. Heres the
thing, Thief: Deadly Shadows is a really good
game if you work a little with it. It isnt perfect,
but it has alot of good qualities. Lots of really
cool missions (probably some best in any of the
Thief games), and most importantly then it feels
like a Thief game. This was something that I was
a bit worried about, especially after Deus Ex
2 not feeling like a Deus Ex game. But they got
it right, and it feels like you're playing in
the Thief universe.
It probably is a bit hard to recommend this game
to anybody but fans of the Thief games, but it
is a quite good game, even though you have to
work a bit with it.

July 9th, 2004 - *BING*
Bling bling! I saw Shrek 2 yesterday~~
Shrek 2
Well, first off, Shrek 2 is a really
cool and really funny movie. Its full of new awesome
characters and of course the return of many of
the old ones. The only real problem with Shrek
2 is that it doesnt really feel as rich on ideas
as the first one did. Even though theres loads
of really awesome stuff, then there are also some
small gaps that I thought made it stand out less
good from the first movie. But again, there is
a load of really awesome stuff in Shrek 2. Probably
the most note worthy is a Zorro wannabe cat called
Puss in Boots, which is voiced brilliantly by
Antonio Banderas (his first role ever where he
doesnt suck btw). Also, the visuals of the movie
are topnoch. All the characters look absoultely
kickass, and their body and facial expression
are probably some of the best yet, or at least
they are very pwn :D~
Anyway, the story of the movie is more or less
just a setup for them to do alot of silly stuff,
and overall the movie doesnt really feel as rounded
out and well thought out as the first one did,
but its still really funny and really well made.

Shrek 2 - 4 out of 5 georfs

July 7th, 2004 - Filifflecnack (Im running out
of names ;G)
Its funny (by that I mean not funny),
theres this StarCraft cardboard Protoss thing
standing at work, and everytime I walk past it
It makes me wanna play StarCraft :) Anyway, I
decided to stop torturing myself by not playing
it, and I installed it again and played it a bit.
Amazing game (as if I need to say that, everybody
knows that). They just need to make a new StarCraft
RTS game :(
Also, me and some of the lads at work played alot
of Doom 2 via LAN. Really good stuff, incredible
how well it holds up on the fun factor.
Anyway, apart from that then Im playing
some of the shitload of games Ive recently bought.
Oh and Ive gotten my hands on a DVD Rip of Shrek
2, its quite sick how fast these rips get out.
Anyway, nice stuff.
Oh
and Picard totally pwnz you!!!
This is already kinda old, but in case you've
somehow missed it...
July 5th, 2004 - Hunfle
Starting to get really tired of the danish
weather (wow how original, complaining about the
weather D:). But seriously though, Its been raining
like the past month or so, which is 1 month of
shitty weather, gah. Looks like its gonna get
better in the coming days tho, so thats........good.
Anyway, I bought Medal of Honor: Frontlines for
the Xbox and Viewtiful Joe for the Gamecube (they
were both quite cheap, and Ive always wanted to
check them out). So far Ive only pulled myself
together to check out MOH: Frontlines, and it
looks VERY dated. Also the gameplay felt a bit......rusty.
I donno, just didnt feel all that great, but I
havent played it much so who knows. I still havent
tried Viewtiful Joe, but I have high expectations
so I hope it wont suck.
Oh and Im gonna see Spiderman 2 on this Saturday
(Friechamp
got it messed up, silly bugger ;D)
Now Im gonna go make my own coffee (Oh the humanity!)
July 3rd, 2004 - Run down like a dawg!
Just watched The Rundown, sizzlechest!
The Rundown
To my surprise then this movie was actually
quite good. Its basically about a guy called Beck
(The Rock ;D) who has to do one last job for his
employer and go into the jungle to retrieve employer's
smartass son. Down there he then gets into alot
of trouble with the son, whos after some artifact,
the locals, and some slaveownerish goldminer.
So in short, theres lots of stuff to fight. Anyway,
Its got some really awesome fights, and some kinda
funny scenes too. Ive never really liked The Rock
much (I mean common, who calls themselves The
Rock? ;D), but hes actually really good in this
movie. It is kinda low on story, but the action
makes it well worth a watch
The Rundown - 3 out of 5 georfs

July 2nd, 2004 - Crack me a tune maestro!
Been listening alot to StreamingSoundtracks.com
on winamp lately, all round some really good stuff,
I recommend it :)
Oh and I watched Spiderman (1) again earlier today,
had almost forgot how cool that movie is. Its
funny how many people seem to hate it, but I actually
really like, an exciting movie from start to end,
and I think the sequel looks like its gonna be
kickass (gonna go see that on Saturday with Iceduck
btw).

June 30th, 2004, - FringleRingle
Heh, my mom and dad are going away on
a vacation to Greece for around 2 weeks tomorrow,
leaving me home alone :)
Quite nice I guess, Its not really that Im that
much home anymore, with work n' all.
Oh yeah Ive been playing some more Ninja Gaiden,
I am starting to kinda like it, even though it
had a rough first impression on me.
June 28th, 2004 - HAAAAEEEO!!!!
Bought Ninja Gaiden today and it is HARD!
But I am getting kinda used to it now, at first
I was extremely frustrated over it being so freaking
hard, but Ive sorta started to get the grip of
it, and it is quite nice when you get the hang
of it.
June 27th, 2004 - Huuuh?
Just
wanted to post this, pretty amazing stuff.
June 27th, 2004 - Procklepop!
Already completed Full Spectrum Warrior,
here are my thoughts on it.
Full Spectrum Warrior (Xbox)
It really is sad how games these days
are getting shorter and shorter by each one released,
and it does sorta make sense when you consider
that the visual quality (and time used on visuals)
gets better and more detailed. Anyway, this certainly
goes for Full Spectrum Warrior, which is an awesome
looking game but its really too short. Anyway,
this goes for most games these days so Ill just
get onto how the game is ;D
Anyway, Full Spectrum Warrior is basically about
you commanding 2 squads of american soldiers through
a set of Middle-Eastern urban enviroments. It
isnt really an action game. It isnt really a strategy
game. At times it feels like a mix of the two,
but for the most time, when you boil it down to
what it is, then it actually feels more like a
puzzle game.
The thing is that it is kind of an action game,
but you never really control the soldiers. You
give them directions to shoot, and they will do
it by themselves. Your job is figuring out how
to take out the enemies, instead of doing the
actual shooting. Although this might turn off
alot of people, then it actually works quite well,
especially since the game is so nice to look at.
But a thing that really irretates me about FSW
is that you can never shoot an enemy with 1 squad
of your soldiers when hes behind cover. Its simple
impossible, the only way to take him out is by
flanking him with your other squad. This is the
thing that turns this from being and action game,
into being a strategy game. The only times where
you actually have a chance of shooting enemies
is when they are out in the open, or behind weak
cover like cars or crates. Its probably the biggest
thing that makes FSW stand out from other games,
but it is also its greatest weakness, since you
tend to use the same couple of tactics over and
over, especially since the levels are kinda linear,
and you dont have alot of freedom to choose from.
However, at its best then FSW is insanely kickass.
Theres nothing quite like executing a succesful
flanking of an enemy when it goes really fast,
and it does get quite actionpacked since the animation
and feel of your soldiers is so well done.
The graphics does play a big part of FSW, especially
the animation of your squad. It looks extremely
life like as they rush for corners, peak around,
move onto the next. Your view on the squad is
also kinda cool, cause you like hover around in
3rd person, yet you never really have a huge advantage
(like peaking around corners without moving your
team leader to the actual corner), and it makes
the experience alot more life like. Also the enviroments
look awesome. Some cool use of post-filter effects
like bloom lighting and the dusty streets makes
it have this really neat style. Lots of neat physics
too. And stuff like when you're covering behind
cars, they bunk, and the door flip open when impacted
by shots really pwn :D! Visually this game is
spot on, I cant really find much to complain about
here :)
Also the audio is awesome. Some really cool music
that makes it sound totally like Black Hawk Down
(which this game has written all over it by the
way). It also changes when you enter a tense situation,
and winds down when things calm down. The voice
acting is really well done as well. All of the
members of your squads have a unique voice matching
their character, and they are all top noch. One
thing that will get on your nerve, however, is
the team leaders which tend to use the same couple
of commands over and over. Nothing big, but if
they had added a few more it wouldnt be that obvious.
The gameplay is probably FSW's biggest problem.
It has this really nice set up, with awesome graphics
and a neat sound side, but the gameplay just isnt
deep enough. The tactics of shooting at an enemy,
covering for your other team, moving your other
team, then repeating this, tend to get kinda boring,
and the fact that this is the primary tactic of
the game, then it isnt all that good. But having
that said, there are lots of cool situations that
doesnt involve the above mentioned.
A cool thing I found, was that the original version
for the US Army is also in the game. If you enter
a cheat code you can play that version (which
is the version they showed at E3 2003 btw), which
is kinda neat, even though its pretty damn hard.
So FSW is a cool game. It is pretty short, and
since its extremely linear then there isnt that
much to come back for a second time, even though
its worth playing through just for the feel of
it. But the feel and style of the game really
helps making the gameplay, which is kinda limited
at times, feel alot more tense and actionpacked.
Hooah!

June 25th, 2004 - Sizzlechish
Just a quick update. Ive bought Full
Spectrum Warrior for the Xbox (waited a long time
for this one) and Soul Calibur 2 for the Gamecube
(about time). Ive only really played Full Spectrum
Warrior so far, but from what Ive played then
its a pretty damn kickass game. Even though it
might look like a shooter upon first look, then
it is a strategy game, even though the pace of
the game does get quite actionpacked :)~
Oh yah, I hate the danish weather
Thats all for now :)
June 24th, 2004 - Sillies
Just some silly links
This
(kinda like a follow up on that old matrixy ping
pong movie)
And
this (eeeeeey!)
June 23rd, 2004 - Just a quickie~
Ive been playing a bit of
Alien Swarm at work with some of the guys,
and its quite fun actually. Its a mod for UT2004
where you control members of a squad that has
to fight their way through hordes of aliens. Its
viewed from a top-down perspective, which is quite
original and quite cool. Anyway, check
it out
June 22nd, 2004 - Hiho!
Just watched the Denmark vs. Sweden football
match, turned out pretty good. Denmark was very
close to winning the match, but then the swedes
got a goal in the last minute, and that made the
match close up as a draw. But still, Denmark is
going on so I guess it isnt that bad, just irretating
when Denmark was so close to winning. Anyway,
good stuff, its nice to have Denmark going just
a bit further (even though Im pretty sure they
will get knocked out fast D:)
Oh yah, check
these silly movies in this link that watah
posted in IRC :)
June 19th, 2004 - Dont funk me!
Hmmm, I checked out Starsky and Hutch...
Starsky and Hutch
For the most part Ive found Ben Stiller
and Owen Wilsons work together quite good. Its
not like they are extremely hilarious, but they
do have a good chemistry together, and it works
well in movies.
Anyway, I did sorta expect something out of this
movie, but it just doesnt deliver any fun moments,
and if there are then they get boring faster than
they are done. Anyway, Starsky and Hutch does
have a pretty good 70's thing going on, and it
does sorta succeed in making it feel a bit 70's
like. But apart from that then theres not much
point in seeing Starsky and Hutch. The few okay
stuff is in the trailer, so just watch that and
consider yourself spared.

June 19th, 2004 - CrimmleCrouch
I totally forgot to mention that I had
my 3 month evaluation at IO the other day. Went
quite well, Im progressing alot faster than most
other trainees they have had, and they were all
for that I got my own map to work on for the game
were working on. Even though I might not have
absoultely everything learned then Im still in
a very strong position after only 3 months, so
thats totally kickass :)
Anyway, against my usual interests, then Im actually
getting quite interested in the European Championships
in football (thats Soccer to Americans). Although
I have always liked a good football match, then
I have gained alot more interest in it recently,
which is quite nice :). Anyway, It isnt going
extremely well for Denmark, but there is still
a chance of them going on so I guess thats cool.)
Anyway, Im gonna go play some Gran Turismo 3,
have been wanting to get some nice quality time
with that game for quite a while now (again) :)~
June 17th, 2004 - Tis All Dark!
Since I checked the review of that The
Chronicles of Riddick game over on Gamespot
I got kinda interested in how the movies based
on this were, so I downloaded Pitch Black and
checked it out.
Pitch Black
Actually I liked this movie more than I thought
I would, but my expectations were very low so
I guess it isnt that odd really. Anyway, the movie
is about some spaceship with some silly passangers
that crash on a planet. On this spaceship theres
this extremely dangerous prisoner called Riddick,
plays by Vin Diesel, who is being hold under control
by some rogue kinda cop. Even though I have very
little respect for Vin Diesel as an actor then
he's actually quite good as this sorta badass
and braindead guy :)
Anyway, the movie is basically about some eclipse
that is near, and that some monsters come out
when its dark and terrorize, and therefore they
have to get some fuel from the crashed ship to
another ship they found before it gets all dark,
and about Riddick kicking some ass.
This is in no way a brilliant movie, but it was
better than expected, so check it out if you got
nothing else to do ;)
Pitch Black - 3 out of 5 georfs

Oh yah, check
this silly mix of sound samples from Indiana
Jones and the Fate of Atlantis :)
June 13th, 2004 - Oh I have sinned!
Not really actually, but I got one of
my random urges to play old games earlier today,
and this time it was for SiN :)
Anyway, this game has always been EXTREMELY underrated.
But I must admit that it doesnt surprise me since
this game has some pretty serious bugs and technical
issues. Anyway, it still remains as a very underrated
game. One thing that came as big surprise is how
good it holds up visually even to todays standards.
SiN was released almost the same time as Half-Life,
and in my opinion then SiN holds up alot better.
Was actually also pretty funny (by that i mean
not funny) because around that time I couldnt
really decide wheter I should buy SiN or Half-Life,
and I went for SiN. And today I still dont regret
it. Even though Half-Life is alot better game,
then I would probably never have gotten SiN if
I didnt buy it back then. Anyways, the leveldesign
in specific holds up very well in my opinion.
SiN has some awesome levels, and these alone make
the game worth playing. Also stuff like particle
systems, bullet impact on enemies and that kind
of stuff makes it look quite pretty :). And another
thing that I suddenly realized is that SiN actually
had vehicles, waaay before any other first person
shooter, I had totally forgotten about that.
But SiN did have some huge problems when it was
released, which now have been fixed with patches,
so now that game is actually playable from start
to finish ;). Another funny thing about playing
it again is that back in 1998 when I got it, it
ran like total shit on our computers (didnt even
run good on my dads fast computer :D). But today
it runs like charm with full detail and everything
on max, which isnt very strange considering that
my computer is about 6 times faster than the recommended
specs, but still, kinda funny to see it running
so nice.
So I guess the point of this is that I recommend
those that never got around to try SiN out to
try and find it and give it a try. Even though
it isnt anything special gameplay wise (its a
shooter without any surprises), then it holds
up really well, and its also first and last known
proof of Ritual being able to do good games, which
really is quite sad. Poor Levelord :(
Anyway, Im saying anyway and but way too much
:)
Oh
and feast on this
June 12th, 2004 - Spotless!
Just came home from tha cinema! :D!
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Its hard to actually define whats so good about
ESOTSM, but it is a really cool movie. The impression
I had from reviews and media coverage was that
was a very confusing movie at first, but that
I ended up fitting together nicely, and thats
right :D! Without giving too much away, then the
movie is basically about Joel (Jim Carrey) who
meets Clementine (Kate Winslet), and they fall
for each other. However over time their relationship
fall apart and Clementine decides to use a special
treatment where you can get annoying memories
removed from your memory, and she therefore removes
Joel. Joel, being first scared by Clementine not
remembering him, then turns to the same treatment,
and has his memories about Clementine removed,
and its in this state that most of the movie takes
place, in Joels mind. Here Joel suddenly decides
that he doesnt really want to have the memories
of Clementine removed, and he tries to escape
the erasure inside his mind.
Most of the time ESOTSM has some really fucked
up scenes, and they alone are worth seeing the
movie for. But in general the movie just a joy
to watch, and you really feel into strange surreal
world inside his mind, where everything changes
so quickly. The movie could look really deep,
but to be honest its quite simple when you boil
it down. However, thats not bad at all, and this
isnt the kind of movie that has loads of different
kinds of interpratations in everything, for the
most part its just about how people react to each
other, perhaps a way to look at things in a broader
perspective.
Anyway, this movie is really kickass, great acting
(Im starting to become a huge fan of Jim Carreys
serious side as an actor) and a really cool story
and style makes this movie a pleasure to watch.

Oh and btw, I know Ive been giving lots
of stuff 5 out of 5 lately, but theres just so
much good stuff at the moment :)
June 10th, 2004 - I F.E.A.R!
Gamespot
has a new movie from F.E.A.R, a first person shooter
that I think is looking really cool. Anyway, you
can check
the movie here, and its just part 1 of
3, with the next 2 being released in the following
days~~
Oh yah, gonna go see
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
on Saturday with Iceduck and Reolged. Im really
looking forward to this movie, looks really cool~
June 9th, 2004 - O Dear!
To my surprise (actually I was totally
aware, I was just wishing) Full Spectrum Warrior
wasnt released in the EU yesterday, and Im now
forced into waiting until June 25th. How dare
they!?!
Anyway, been playing a bit of Thief 3 and its
really good stuff, mazzle review on that later
(when Ive completed it).
Oh yah, I got a hold on Oldboy, a Korean movie
that won some award at the Cannes film festival
that I thought looked quite interesting (and speaking
of which, theres a trailer
of Fahrenheit 9/11, Michael Moore's new
movie which won the main award thingy at Cannes)
Anyway~
Oldboy
It was kinda frustrating to watch this movie in
the begining, because the subtitles were going
pretty damn fast, and since my Korean is a bit
rusty (Riiiiiight) then it did go a bit fast,
but anyway, the movie. Oldboy is about Daesu Oh,
a man who is locked up in an apartment for 15
years without knowing why. Here Daesu is shown
as he is getting increasingly insane (or nuts
rather) with each day that goes, and his only
companion there is the TV which obviously makes
his reality quite fucked up after 15 years. Anyway,
after the many years of imprisonment Daesu Oh
is released, and he wakes up in a large suitcase.
Now the only thing he can think about is revenge.
Oldboy has a quite interesting plot, which I obviously
wont spoil, but lets just say that you'll never
see it coming, but it is quite cool :). Anyway,
the entire style of the movie is really nicely
done as well, the movie does a good job at keeping
you a tad confused yet still keep you interested.
The movie might not be as original as it wants
to look, but its still good fun. Even though Im
not used to watching foreign movies, then I recommend
that you check out Oldboy (if you can find it
that is :O).
Oldboy - 4 out of 5 georfs

June 5th, 2004 - The Mue!
Long time no see eh? Been busy playing
Shenmue 2, and I just completed it :)
Shenmue 2
Not many game developers dare take the chances
that Yu Susuki has taken. The first Shenmue was
the most expensive game ever developed back in
2000. Although the first game had alot of problems,
then it was also an amazing and original game.
This is pretty much the same case for the sequel,
but for the most part Shenmue 2 succeeds in avoiding
some of the pitfalls of the first, and is overall
alot more enjoyable.
Anyway, if you're not familiar with the story
of Shenmue, then it basically revolves around
Ryo Hazuki, a boy (or a man rather, even though
he doesn't act much like it :D) whos father is
killed by a mysterious man called Lan Di. Ryo,
being furious about the murder on his father,
begins his quest for revenge. In the first game
Ryo sought for clues on Lan Di in Ryo's home town
of Yokosuka, Japan. Although this felt like an
amazingly huge place to explore, then its nothing
compared to what Shenmue 2 has to offer. But before
I go any further, then I'd like to point out to
those unfamiliar with Shenmue, that the amount
of freedom you have in your exploration of the
enviroments is quite stunning. Everything around
you can be checked out, and this bring an amazing
amount of depth into this game. Anyway, where
you were able to pick up every little thing in
the first game, then Shemue 2 does trim this a
bit down, and considering that the scale of the
game is probably around 4 times larger then thats
probably a good idea. Where Shenmue 1 was played
in a small city, Shenmue 2 spans over Hong Kong
and a bunch of other big Chinese cities. And the
amount of detail is almost the same, very impressive
stuff.
Anyway, Shenmue 2 (like its prequel) is all about
exploration. Most of the time you go around, looking
for clues, asking people about stuff. But once
in a while (and pretty often I might add) you
get into fights, and this is where the game usually
turns into a pretty sophisticated fighting game.
Also, there are loads of cinematic like sequences
where you have to press buttons according to the
actions you need to preform (to for example, run
after somebody). The game is full of these sequences
which are called QTE (Quick Time Events), and
for the most part these work quite well and are
really intense, but you usually tend to get a
bit frustrated over these when you keep fucking
em up.
But like the first game Shenmue 2 is also full
of minigames. These include job minigames (such
as carrying crates, working in stands), gambling,
arcade machines and loads of others. You need
to play these to earn money so that you can pay
whatever you choose to do (hotel bills for example
:G).
Visually the game holds up pretty well, considering
that its actually a 3 year old Dreamcast game
that was ported for Xbox. The enviroments does
tend to look a bit bland and boring at day time,
but at night everything looks very cool. The use
of bloom lighting really helps this game look
cooler too. Also most of the character models
look really good.
The audio side of the game is pretty well done
as well. Some of the music does tend to get a
bit repetitive when you're walking around an area
for a long time, but for the most time it works
quite well. And the few orchestral scores sound
kickass as usual. The voice acting is pretty choppy
for most part. Some of it is pretty okay, but
some it plain out sucks. But this is forgivable
considering the games scale and the amount of
voice acting done.
Overall Shenmue 2 is an amazing game, but it is
in no way perfect. Some of the main flaws in this
game might be more well directed towards the difference
between the western and asian cultures, but since
the game, which for the most part is quite realistic,
tends to get really strange. These are things
that people say, ways they act, and sometimes
it just breaks feeling of game. Also Ryo, the
guy you play, has some huge problem with picking
up signals from girls. Both in the first game,
but also this one, he totally ignores girls that
are flirting with him, and you just sit and shout
at the TV since you cant make him flirt back D:
There are other small annoying things about Shenmue
2, and you might have to work with it to truely
appreciate its beauty, but past that it overall
the game works well and it plays great. Even though
it might get a bit frustrating a few times then
you forgive it since most of the game is so cool.
Also this game is HUGE compared to the length
of games these days. It took me roughly 20-25
hours to complete it, so theres lots of goodiness,
and im sure you can spend even more time finding
lots of other stuff to do.
So there you have it. Shenmue 2 is a quite amazing
game with some flaws, but it makes up for this
by being good in alot of other places, and overall
you just feel good when playing it, and it keeps
you interested for more. Even though it isnt perfect,
then it gets far by taking chances that noone
else are taking in game development, and that
makes it original. This game is probably best
suited for fans of Adventure games and RPG's,
but its got lots of action as well, so pretty
much everybody can be recommended to get this
one.
Only thing is that now I want Shenmue 3 D:!~

Oh yah, I still havent changed the email
on the site, but use this
one for now (even that one is start to
get all jammed with virus and spam mails D:)
May 30th, 2004 - Onoes disastar mewie!
Me and my mate Peter (Reolged) went to
the cinema yesterday to check out The Day After
Tomorrow, here is what I thought...
The Day After Tomorrow
As you might have guessed (if you've read some
reviews of this movie that is) then this movie
all about the visual effects. The movie is simply
put about the worlds weather fucking up, the polar
thingys melt and that causes some kind of new
ice age (I know nothing about this shit so bear
with me). Some silly scientist (who predicted
that this ice age would come) has son that is
in New York when all hell breaks loose. Therefore
he decides to go there on foot to save him. As
i said, its all about the visual effects, the
story is quite weak. But, the special effects
are noteworthy, and they are quite impressive.
Especially the scenes when New York is flooded
are quite impressively done. But one thing I kept
thinking about is that it seems a tad sadistic
to make people watch New York get even more fucked
up than it was on 9/11, but I guess thats the
point of the movie (which is obviously very much
against the US's way of treating the enviroment).
Apparently the movie is extremely unrealistic,
in terms of the enviromental disaster, but the
point still gets through: That the US has to get
a grip, and start winding down on their energy
use. And its funny, because in the movie theres
this Vice President of the US, who is highly sceptical
about the theorys that the scientist fella has,
and its obvious that hes the american enviromental
politics personified. Anyway, enough talk.
The movie is pretty good. Its nothing special
really, but its nice to look at its not really
that you're bored in the 2 hours that the movie
lasts. But its far from something groundbreaking,
and you do leave the cinema with a sorta flat
feeling.
The Day After Tomorrow - 3 out of 5 georfs

Oh yeah, I actually watched The Godfather
for the first time ever yesterday. Really good
movie, which actually is as good as Ive been told.
Cool stuff :)
May 28th, 2004 - Sad Panda
Some rather sad news. Warren Spector
and about 20-25 people are leaving ION Storm Austin
(Source: Shacknews).
Really sad stuff, Im a huge fan of Warren Spector
(yes, even thought Deus Ex 2 sucked). I just hope
he will get back into business and do some more
amazing games~
Edit: Apparently Warren Spector isnt leaving,
its just the 20-25 people D:
And btw, speaking of ION Storm, Thief: Deadly
Shadows has is within my grasp! Im getting the
fulldemo as a placeholder until I get the full
thing, expect a Mazzle review soon too.)
May 26th, 2004 - Ribbelfrick~
I ordered Shenmue 2 for the Xbox a couple
of days ago. Me and Iceduck were talking about
that it was a shame that we had never played or
gotten it, and so I ordered it. Even though the
first place didnt have it and wasnt able to get
more copies :G. Anyway, got it with the mail today,
now I just need to get the Xbox over here (Iceduck
has it at the moment).
Also, just watched the season finale of 24 season
3. A pretty good season but a weak finale. Having
that said tho, I still find 24 pretty cool and
wouldnt mind too much with another season perhaps
:)
Oh yah, Ive also been playing a bit of Ground
Control 2 demoness at work. Nice game, has some
very cool graphics (orgasmish water effects).
Get the demo on wutever game site you like (lazybuns
be me).
Oh and a last thing, Thief: Deadly Shadows has
been released in the US, but will be released
in the EU on June 11th. Totally sucks :(~
Oh and another thing, Full Spectrum Warrior is
also near, start of next month as well~~
May 23rd, 2004 - FINKLECRACK!
I just watched The Butterfly Effect with
Iceduck, Mazzle review har!
The Butterfly Effect
I had heard some good things about this movie,
but it really did blow me away. This movie is
fantastic to say the least, and one of the best
ones Ive seen in a VERY long time.
I'll try to make this as simple as possible, since
some of the genius of this movie is also experiencing
it.
Anyway, the story goes this way. Evan, the main
character, has loads of short blackouts where
he totally forgets what happens when he was a
child. Evan writes these down in a dairy. At first
in the movie we are presented with alot of what
seems like random situations, but these later
turn out to be the very essence of the movie.
You see, these blackouts are actually sorta like
some portals where he in the future (or what is
actually the present) can travel back to and change
things. This is done when he reads in his dairy.
It might sound a tad weak, but this movie works
very well, and unlike some other time travel movies
then this one strangely enough feels very real,
and you really feel for Evan in some of the fucked
up situations he land in. Part of this is due
to the set up of the time leaps, which dont take
place in a time machine but in a mind wise state.
The thing that makes The Butterfly Effect so exciting
is the way that we see how he changes things,
how fucked up some of the results are, and how
he tries to get back to the blackouts to change
things and get it right. I dont know if I should
say more, I dont want to spoil some of the enjoyment
:)~
This is probably the best movie is seen in years,
its really good stuff, recommended to the extreme!

May 23rd, 2004 - The Dingo Ate Ur Babay!
Uh.......right. Anyway, I cut off some
of the stuff on the main page, its (like always)
been added to the archive.
Gonna do a mazzle review on Pandora Tomorrow,
since finally got it completed recently.
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
Once again, Sam Fisher is ready to battle (or
rather sneak past in a cowardly fashion) bad guys
in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow.
Anyway, enough with the salespitch (uhhh?), Pandora
Tomorrow is the sequel to the 2001 stealth game.
My opinion on the first game remains a bit divided.
After I had completed it then I never really loved
it, never really hated it either. A pretty good
game. Its the same thing with the sequel. Its
not really bad, but its not really that good either.
My initial impression was pretty good, some of
the first maps are quite cool and make you interesting
in getting more, but some of the later levels
are really bad and REALLY boring. But after I
got past these then the game continued being pretty
good.
Overall the visual side of the game is impressive
without being jawdropping. The first game impressed
more than this one does, but Pandora Tomorrow
still has some nice visuals and for the most part
then it works well with the stealthy gameplay
(the lack of ragdoll physics in such a game surprise
me tho). And everything that was cool about SC1
is in this one as well. Im specificly talking
about the different goggles you got. They still
look cool and stuff.
Anyway, sound side of the game is good. Michael
Ironside is good as voicing Sam Fisher, and the
other voice acting is well done too. The music
is overall well done and works good enough with
the stealthy gameplay.
Anyway, gameplay. I guess I should point out the
story as well, since the game spends alot of time
trying to get you into it. Some silly terrorist
wants to kill people by saying "Pandora Tomorrow"
in a phone, and therefore you have to go around
the world and do stuff to prevent him in releasing
some virus. The story is boring, and you really
dont care about it at all. They might as well
have had him hunting some pink rabbit that had
stole a key to a bathroom, would have been as
interesting (probably even more interesting if
you ask me).
The actual game is pretty good for the most part.
The main problem about Splinter Cell in general
is that its WAAAY too linear. It is so linear
that it should be defined under linear in the
dictionary. There is no freedom at all, and the
game suffers alot from this. The gameplay works
well and is interesting enough the first time
around, but when you're this constrained then
it tends to mess up the fun in the long run. I
know lots of games are linear, but with stealth
games then freedom is a must in my opinion. Anyway,
the leveldesign is good, its a well done game
if you ignore the rather huge problem of linearity.
The multiplayer side of the game is pretty good
though. I must admit that I havent played it that
much, but the little I have played of it is quite
fun. In it you play one of two teams. One is a
sneaking team, the other a guarding team. The
sneaking team has objectives to preform, and the
guarding team has to stop them. What makes this
interesting is that the sneaking team plays this
as you would play the singleplayer portion of
Pandora Tomorrow, while the guarding team plays
it as a first person shooter. Its pretty original
and it works quite well.
So all in all then Pandora Tomorrow is a pretty
average game. Its got good visuals, good sound,
and some pretty good multiplayer stuff, and some
rather average singleplayer stuff. Its a pretty
good game but you wont really miss anything by
avoiding it..

May 21st, 2004 - Minglecrinck
Been a while since I updated, Ive been
too tired or too lazy to update, but anyway, here
I am again :D!
Anyway, Ive ordered Shenmue 2 for the Xbox. Been
wanting to get my hands on it for quite a while
now, but Ive forgotten about it shortly after,
but I finally pulled myself together, and found
a store that has it, and I should have it sometime
next week.
Oh yah, next week Thief 3 will be released. Been
looking forward to this one for quite a while
now, since Im a huge fan of Thief games. I just
hope that Ion Storm arent gonna fuck it up like
they fucked up Deus Ex 2 D:! Anyway, its looking
good so I guess I shouldnt be too worried!
Oh yah, I also got a free copy of Hitman Contracts,
and some shirts (a Freedom Fighters t-shirt, and
a Hitman Contracts t-shirt and shirt). I was kinda
bored so I took some pics of myself wearing them,
check em here: 1,
2,

Im a bit tired now, more updatie latah! :D
May 16th, 2004 - Ohes
The link for the San Andreas scan arent
working anymore, so check
this instead (no new pics here tho D:)
May 15th, 2004 - BLING!
So E3 is over, some overall nice stuff,
gonna check out more (so much stuff, so little
time ey?)
Oh yah, check the new
trailer for The Incredibles, Pixars new
movie.
May 14th, 2004 - Whoa!
I just got this
link for ya. Its scan of an article on
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Read it, its totally
nuts, they are doing an entire state this time!
Cant wait! :D
May 13th, 2004 - Findletrin
Bleh, Im sick so Im staying home today
(and no, it isnt the E3 fever). Its this crappy
danish weather that is constantly changing, so
unless you pay attention to it all the time then
ur bound to get sick. Anyway, really snotty and
shit n' I got a mofo of a headache, so Ill make
this quick.
GTA San Andreas media has been released! (01,
02
and 03).
Looking really cool, but I just want more :)~
Anyway, lots of cool stuff on E3, F.E.A.R is looking
quite interesting. The PSP is also looking way
too good to be true. Anyway, im tired now, so
Ill be back later and stuff.)
Update: Battlefield
2 movies, very pone!
May 11th, 2004 - Its that special time again...
E3 is upon us, once again.
I just finished watching the Nintendo pre-E3 conference.
I must admit that Ive been a tad sceptical about
the Nintendo DS, the idea of having 2 screens
sounded kind of pointless. But the DS is looking
really cool. Not only does it do really cool 3D,
it also has touch sensitive screens, GBA compatibilty,
and wireless network functions (and apparently
also online functions). Anyway, looking really
sweet. I wonder if Sony can match Nintendo with
the PSP. I havent had the chance to check Sonys
conference yet, but I will soon enough :)~~
May 8th, 2004 - Future Revisited
Was shopping for a present for Iceduck
(his birthday is on Monday). Anyway, while shopping
I found the Back To The Future Trilogy Boxset.
Been wanting to get it for ages, so I bought it
for myself :). Some excellent movies, good to
finally have em.
Oh yah, E3 is next week, hope it will be as interesting
as it was last year :)
May 7th, 2004 - Mega Pwn~
Just a quick updatie
I found a link to this site called Mega64, where
some guys does parodys on games such as Shenmue,
Metal Gear Solid and Tetris. Really funny shit,
check
it here
Also, Thief 3 has gone gold, should be
out by the end of May, good stuff, been wanthing
this one for ages :)~ just hope its good D:
Oh yah, I watched Underworld the other day.
Underworld
It wasn't very good. I donno if its just me, but
this entire vampire, werewolf etc thing in movies
is starting to get a bit boring. Anyway, the movie
had a little action that was pretty nice, but
overall the movie was just boring, and the story
was extremely uninteresting (Vampires vs. Werewolfs,
and then some more stuff that is so boring that
Im not even gonna go into it). After 30 minutes
into the movie I just waited for it to end. The
only good thing in it (I suppose), is Kate Beckinsale
which is sorta hot, but thats about it. I did
expect this to be okay entertaining, but simply
just uninteresting and a waste of time.
Underworld - 1 out of 5 georfs
May 4th, 2004 - Mmmmmm
Been thinking about what computer I should
get when Im gonna upgrade/get a new one. Currently
then Im like 99,9% sure that Im gonna go for an
Alienware
computer, since they both look totally kickass
and they pack alot of amazing stuff in them. They
are a bit pricey, but Im not thinking of buying
it like right away. Gonna save some money and
just buy the fastest shit that money can buy,
and obviously Im gonna get the new ATi
X800 XT in it, the best of the best :)
May 1st, 2004 - Hai wiff pai!
EEEEY! The Hitman Contracts release party
yesterday was quite cool :D
It was placed in this old warehouse place, on
the other side on the river where IO is located.
We were taken there by boat from IO, quite funky.
Anyway, this warehouse had gotten a little facelift,
and had more of a slaugtherhouse look, much like
a level in Hitman Contracts. Anyway, with dancers
(which made all the guys grab for their phones
to take pics, me included ;D), free bar, and Jesper
Kyd as DJ (guy that makes the music for all of
IOs games, really sweet music btw), and loads
of people then it was quite the funk, even though
i got perhaps a bit too much to drink, and I prolly
smoked a bit too much waterpipe as well D:!
Anyway, The
Specialists 2.1 has been released, go
check it out :D
I got 2 maps in it btw, ts_supertimor and ts_kissmeyerbasic
:)
Oh yah, prepare
to be owned!
April 29th, 2004 - PAAAAI!
Btw, Pai Mei'ness, check
this out. I recommend you not to watch
it if you havent already seen Kill Bill Vol 2
(since you should experience Pai Mei in better
quality the first time!), but else you can check
it out :D!
Oh yah, 3dmax course is over, Hitman Contracts
release party is tomorrow. Neat
Oh and I was checking out Blur's
site. Really talented guys, some awesome
