May 21st, 2004 - Minglecrinck
Been a while since I updated, Ive been too tired or too lazy to update, but anyway, here I am again :D!

Anyway, Ive ordered Shenmue 2 for the Xbox. Been wanting to get my hands on it for quite a while now, but Ive forgotten about it shortly after, but I finally pulled myself together, and found a store that has it, and I should have it sometime next week.

Oh yah, next week Thief 3 will be released. Been looking forward to this one for quite a while now, since Im a huge fan of Thief games. I just hope that Ion Storm arent gonna fuck it up like they fucked up Deus Ex 2 D:! Anyway, its looking good so I guess I shouldnt be too worried!

Oh yah, I also got a free copy of Hitman Contracts, and some shirts (a Freedom Fighters t-shirt, and a Hitman Contracts t-shirt and shirt). I was kinda bored so I took some pics of myself wearing them,
check em here: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Im a bit tired now, more updatie latah! :D

May 16th, 2004 - Ohes
The link for the San Andreas scan arent working anymore, so check this instead (no new pics here tho D:)

May 15th, 2004 - BLING!
So E3 is over, some overall nice stuff, gonna check out more (so much stuff, so little time ey?)

Oh yah, check the new trailer for The Incredibles, Pixars new movie.

May 14th, 2004 - Whoa!
I just got this link for ya. Its scan of an article on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Read it, its totally nuts, they are doing an entire state this time! Cant wait! :D

May 13th, 2004 - Findletrin
Bleh, Im sick so Im staying home today (and no, it isnt the E3 fever). Its this crappy danish weather that is constantly changing, so unless you pay attention to it all the time then ur bound to get sick. Anyway, really snotty and shit n' I got a mofo of a headache, so Ill make this quick.

GTA San Andreas media has been released! (01, 02 and 03). Looking really cool, but I just want more :)~

Anyway, lots of cool stuff on E3, F.E.A.R is looking quite interesting. The PSP is also looking way too good to be true. Anyway, im tired now, so Ill be back later and stuff.)

Update: Battlefield 2 movies, very pone!

May 11th, 2004 - Its that special time again...
E3 is upon us, once again.

I just finished watching the Nintendo pre-E3 conference. I must admit that Ive been a tad sceptical about the Nintendo DS, the idea of having 2 screens sounded kind of pointless. But the DS is looking really cool. Not only does it do really cool 3D, it also has touch sensitive screens, GBA compatibilty, and wireless network functions (and apparently also online functions). Anyway, looking really sweet. I wonder if Sony can match Nintendo with the PSP. I havent had the chance to check Sonys conference yet, but I will soon enough :)~~

May 8th, 2004 - Future Revisited
Was shopping for a present for Iceduck (his birthday is on Monday). Anyway, while shopping I found the Back To The Future Trilogy Boxset. Been wanting to get it for ages, so I bought it for myself :). Some excellent movies, good to finally have em.

Oh yah, E3 is next week, hope it will be as interesting as it was last year :)

May 7th, 2004 - Mega Pwn~
Just a quick updatie

I found a link to this site called Mega64, where some guys does parodys on games such as Shenmue, Metal Gear Solid and Tetris. Really funny shit, check it here

Also, Thief 3 has gone gold, should be out by the end of May, good stuff, been wanthing this one for ages :)~ just hope its good D:

Oh yah, I watched Underworld the other day.

Underworld

It wasn't very good. I donno if its just me, but this entire vampire, werewolf etc thing in movies is starting to get a bit boring. Anyway, the movie had a little action that was pretty nice, but overall the movie was just boring, and the story was extremely uninteresting (Vampires vs. Werewolfs, and then some more stuff that is so boring that Im not even gonna go into it). After 30 minutes into the movie I just waited for it to end. The only good thing in it (I suppose), is Kate Beckinsale which is sorta hot, but thats about it. I did expect this to be okay entertaining, but simply just uninteresting and a waste of time.

May 4th, 2004 - Mmmmmm
Been thinking about what computer I should get when Im gonna upgrade/get a new one. Currently then Im like 99,9% sure that Im gonna go for an Alienware computer, since they both look totally kickass and they pack alot of amazing stuff in them. They are a bit pricey, but Im not thinking of buying it like right away. Gonna save some money and just buy the fastest shit that money can buy, and obviously Im gonna get the new ATi X800 XT in it, the best of the best :)

May 1st, 2004 - Hai wiff pai!
EEEEY! The Hitman Contracts release party yesterday was quite cool :D
It was placed in this old warehouse place, on the other side on the river where IO is located. We were taken there by boat from IO, quite funky. Anyway, this warehouse had gotten a little facelift, and had more of a slaugtherhouse look, much like a level in Hitman Contracts. Anyway, with dancers (which made all the guys grab for their phones to take pics, me included ;D), free bar, and Jesper Kyd as DJ (guy that makes the music for all of IOs games, really sweet music btw), and loads of people then it was quite the funk, even though i got perhaps a bit too much to drink, and I prolly smoked a bit too much waterpipe as well D:!

Anyway, The Specialists 2.1 has been released, go check it out :D
I got 2 maps in it btw, ts_supertimor and ts_kissmeyerbasic :)

Oh yah, prepare to be owned!

April 29th, 2004 - PAAAAI!
Btw, Pai Mei'ness
, check this out. I recommend you not to watch it if you havent already seen Kill Bill Vol 2 (since you should experience Pai Mei in better quality the first time!), but else you can check it out :D!

Oh yah, 3dmax course is over, Hitman Contracts release party is tomorrow. Neat

Oh and I was checking out Blur's site. Really talented guys, some awesome 3D Animation, go check it out for some serious ownage :)

April 28th, 2004 - Play with your balls!
PLAYS WITH THEM!!!!

April 26th, 2004 - Echlooo
A teaser for The Specialists 2.1 has been released. You can find this on The Specialists site.

TS 2.1 is gonna be released on Friday btw, and will feature two of my maps in it, ts_kissmeyerbasic and ts_supertimor.

Oh, and.....PAI MEI! (the 19 pics go from 01 to 19) :D!!!~

April 25th, 2004 - Attention please!
Btw, a pretty important thing that I forgot to mention. The mail on the site (the contact me link on the left side) doesnt work. My old mail has yet again been fucked up, so from now on Im just gonna use stuff like Hotmail for regular internet mail and nonpersonal stuff. If you want to mail me then send it to this mail

I'll get the link fixed ASAP

April 25th, 2004 - ROAR!
I forgot whether I already mentioned this already, but Im going to this 3D Studio Max 6 course for 4 days (Monday to Thursday). Looking really forward to this actually, hope that I'll learn alot of new stuff and get more into the smaller things of 3Dmax that usually makes the workflow speed up. There's gonna be some other guys from IO as well so thats nice.

Oh yah, the new The Specialists is very near :)

April 24th, 2004 - HAI!
Just came home from watching Kill Bill Volume 2 :)

Kill Bill Volume 2
First off, Volume 2 is awesome. Although the movie doesnt rely that much on action as Volume 1 did, then that shouldnt tick you off. The reason is that while Volume 1 was a tribute to mainly Kung Fu (or swordy stuff mebbe :D) action movies, Volume 2 feels more like a tribute to westerns. Anyway, if you arent already aware then Volume 2 is about The Bride (Uma) killing the rest of the Deadly Viper Assasination Squad, which she started doing in Volume 1.

Even though Volume 2 is less focuesed on the action, then I felt like the pace of the movie is actually somewhat faster. The story flows alot better in Volume 2, and while Volume 1 was interesting throughout the entire movie with lots of action, then Volume 2 does an even better job at this but just with dialouge. Obviously the story is being told Tarantino wise which means that you get each bit of the puzzle in an unchronological way. One especially interesting point of the movie is when The Bride is burried under ground in a coffin. Here you learn the technique she will use by a flashback to her time as a pupil of Pai Mei, the master of the Five Point Palm exploding heart technique ;D. The scenes with Pai Mei are totally genius btw.

Anyway, overall I felt Volume 2 was more rounded. It had some good action and it was more interesting story wise, and my overall feeling when i left the cinema was really good. Without a doubt one of the best movies Ive seen in a while, and a movie that everybody that just remotely like QT movies should check out.

April 18th, 2004 - Long Live The D!
Been listening and checking out alot of Tenacious D stuff lately, its the band which Jack Black is in by the way. Actually its only 2 guys, Jack Black and Kyle Gass. The music is totally kickass. Its both really cool music, and its really funny as well, good combo. It is usually really cool rock, but theres sometimes some other stuff in the mix, so overall each song has a special feel to it, although Jack Blacks vocal always tend to blow through it and give it a special cool touch :D. Anyway, been checking out some of their HBO specials too (like movie episodes), some really hiliarious stuff.

So anyway, I highly recommend you to check out some Tenacious D if you like stuff that pwnz.

/me goes to check more D

Oh yah, forgot if I already mentioned this, but I got tickets to Kill Bill Volume 2 on Saturday. Denmarks best cinema and really good seats so it should be a blast. Going there with Reolged, Pingu and Iceduck, looking forward to it very mucho :D!

April 17th, 2004 - Tringletop!
Forgot to mention this before but Ive been watching alot of movies lately as well. I'll do some quick reviews on them (since Im checking for viruses and my computer is running too slow to play games :D). Anyway, Big Fish and School of Rock.

Big Fish
So first off, Big Fish. In short the story is this: A dying man, Edward Bloom, is confronted with his son who is tired of his father always exaggerating and pepping up the stories of his life to make them more interesting. He's tired that he's never heard the stories like they really happend, and so he tries to really get to know his father just before he dies. Through the movie, Ed Bloom then tells the stories, just as hes always told them, and these are really fascinating and original. The entire feel of the movie feels really slick, sort like a fairytale, yet in a real world and Tim Burton pulls it off very well indeed. And like Tim Burtons other movies, then the best part of the movie is probably the visual side of the movie, which is amazing to say the least. Also, in many aspects the movie reminds me alot of Forest Gump (another excellent flick btw), yet its more silly perhaps. It would be a shame to tell about some of the stories, because they are probably all best the first time you see them, but they are usually totally crazy and funny. So all round a really nice movie, even though I thought the ending might be a bit weak compared to how strong the rest of the movie is, then its well worth a watch.

Big Fish - 4 out of 5 georfs

School of Rock
Off to something a bit different ;D
Anyway, Im actually a pretty big fan of Jack Black. I think hes an awesome musician and a hilarious comedian, so making a movie that mixes these (much like his character in High Fidelity) should be pretty good, and for the most part School of Rock works pretty well. Anyway, in short the movies is about Dewey Finn, played by Jack Black, whos been thrown out of his band. Anyway, being without a job, his roommates sorta force him to get a job. Anyway, one of his roommates is a school teacher substitute, and when a private school calls for him, Dewey goes there instead. Substituting the teacher he then starts off by doing nothing, which sorta makes the children worried, but soon Dewey notices that some of the children can play, and he starts teaching them how to play rock (that wasnt short at all eh? :D). Anyway, this is a movie heavily carried by Jack Black, but its got some cool moments and some fun parts. It does tend to get a bit watered out though, but if you like Jack Black then you should check this movie out.

April 14th, 2004 - Mistar McRae!
Yesterday (first day after easter, yay!) I got my DVDs. The Band of Brothers tinbox and The Office boxset. Very pwn, heres a little pic of them in all their glory :D! Very pwn, just a shame that I almost already saw all 10 episodes of BOB like a month ago, oh well.

Colin McRae Rally 04
Anyway, Colin McRae Rally 04. Well, Ill just try to make this as short as possible. CMR4 is the best racing game Ive tried in ages. Its not that I play that many racing games, but I do know a good game when I see and play it. Visually CMR4 is awesome. Most of the maps look awesome, and even though a few tracks look a bit bare compared to the others, then it simply adds some variation from the other maps. But still, a few maps dont look as sharp, but overall the maps look great. But the best and most important thing is obviously the cars, and they look amazing. Nothing to complain about, they look real enough.

The audio side is pretty much as good as the visuals. Everything sounds great. From the cars stopping up and gravel flying in the air, to the engine sounds. Everything sounds spot on. I do however tend to have some sound problems where it screws the sound up, but thats just cause I got a fuckoff old sound card D:

And the gameplay is even better. Lots of cars, great controls, and feel the cars is really kickass. Especially since every car actually feels different in its controls. The tracks are all kickass as well, and theres loads of em. All around in Europe, Japan, USA, Australia, theres enough for everybody :D. Anyway, CMR4 doesnt really add anything new, except for doing them extremely well. So if you like a good racing game, then get Colin McRae Rally 04 now!

April 10th, 2004 - HHWINGG!!
Lots of cool movie trailers at the moment, the Spiderman 2 trailer was released yesterday or something, looking very cool :)~~

Anyway, Im starting to feel a bit better now, not all snotty with headaches, now my biggest problem is that i cough every half hour :D~ So thats nice.

So, yah, Ive been playing loads of Colin McRae 04, I really love that game, one of the best and most fun driving games Ive played in ages. Especially since its so easy to get into, yet the difficulty just keeps getting harder in a nice steady tempo. Mazzle review is imminent ;)

Oh yah, I got my hands on the Kill Bill Volume 2 soundtrack, Ive forced myself not to listen to it too much (since it sorta ruins the surprise sumtimes, u know). But some really nice stuff, I dig Tarantinos taste in music, very classy :D!~

Anyway, I think thats all for now, gonna go play some Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow.

April 9th, 2004 - Gah D:
Yesterday we had loads of guests over (family, rather), and since I was über snotty yesterday then it wasnt all that fun really. Constantly had to blow my nose, and having them opening the doors because it was too hot inside, didnt exactly make me feel like I was getting any better. Anyway, if it had been somewhere else I would have stayed home, hmh.

Anyways, a couple of days ago I also ordered the 2 season DVD of The Office and the tin boxset of Band of Brothers (which Ive been wanting to get my hands on for ages). Good stuff. And speaking of BOB, Gearbox is apparently working on some WW2 game, and started showing off some small pics that look quite good. Quite nice, since I know quite a bit of people that work there now.

Anyway, I might have to change my mail since its started fucking around and stuff, just suck cuz then people probably send to the old one cuz they dont know its changed, o well.

April 7th, 2004 - Sniffle
Kill Bill 2 Trailer has been released

Oh and Im really snotty at the moment, really annoying shit.
Also, I bought Colin McRae Rally 04 today, good stuff.

Thats all for now, nice to have sum small easter holiday thing going on, I need some sleep D:!~

April 5th, 2004 - HALLO?!?
Yesterday my one of my ears was hurting a bit, I had a small wound on my left ear, so I tried to pour some water on it, and use some cotton buds to clean. Doing so I decided that I might as well clean my other ear too, but by doing so I somehow managed to push some of the ear wax into the ear, and make my right totally waxed in. I desperately tried to fix this with more cotton buds, but it just made it worse, and ended up making my ear bleed. Anyway, to make a short story longer (EEEEY!), then I went to the doctor today and he cleaned my ear with some water spray, so now my ear is all fine and dandy. Just felt really irretating, my head felt so sluggish and stuff with the ear wax blocking the ear, good thing that its over. Also I was feeling really sick this morning (part of it was due to the ear wax situation), had a really sore throat and I just felt really tired and slugged down, so I took the day off. Good choice, dont think it would have been too much fun to be at IO while feeling like this. But now Im feeling alot better and will be ready for some work tomorrow :D!~

Anyway, now that Im updating I might as well do my review on FarCry.

FarCry
Lets start with the obvious. FarCry looks fucking incredible! Its without a doubt the best looking game out at the moment. It succesfully uses all the fancy effects in the latest graphics cards and the result is amazing to say the least. From the cool water to dynamic lighting indoor this game is a visual gem. Some of the indoor levels do however tend to look a bit boring, but overall they are very moody and in good contrast to the outside stuff. Also the use of phyisics (which just about every game has today) makes the envoriments seem more alive, and you can usually use this to your advantage as well by pushing stuff over enemies. However it also requires a pretty hefty computer to do all these things, but my old 1.4Ghz with a Radeon 9600 Pro plays it fine at medium details. I played it a bit on my work computer too, where it obviously looks alot better. The game does have this sort of plasticy and bright colored look to it, but instead of making it look stupid then it actually pulls it off quite well, and makes the style of the graphics look quite cool. Anyway, the visuals are spot on, not much to complaint about here.

The audio side of FarCry is pretty good too. Its nothing all that fantastic to be honest, but it works for the most part. The sounds such as of jungles, and waves hitting the beach are spot on and sound real. Also the music in the inside areas work very well to give the game a more creepy feel. However, some of the music tends to get a tad tiresome, and the voice acting is pretty terrible, especially for the guy you play, Jack Carver. His smartass comments are bound to make you want to see him dead, and the characters also have their body expressions WAY overdone. Overall the sound side is okay.

And then theres the gameplay. To sum it up quickly, the story of FarCry takes place on a bunch of tropical islands where some retired commando soldier (you) is taking a pretty hot journalist. However you are hit by some rocket and you strand on an island where you have to fight a bunch of soldiers, which are hired by some madman that is conducting some mutant experiments, that you also fight, on the islands. The story is pretty much crap. Anyway, the gameplay starts off pretty good, and feels quite well done, having alot of different angles to approch problems (or rather lots of angles to attack bases and enemies, or that you can just sneak past em). However you soon find out that the gameplay isnt all that well done. In lots of situations the gameplay is extremely unbalanced, and ends up being more frustrating than fun, since you keep getting killed without any notice. As you progress through the game then the classic example ends up being the rocketwhoring guys, that can easily kill you before you even notice them, or the aliens which are fucking fast and can kill you in about 1-2 hits. Also there are generally lots of firefights where you are simply outnumbered and the difficulty (even on easy) is simply too hard. However, these problems could have been solved pretty easily (or at least been minimized), with a pretty common functionality. I dont know if you're heard about it, but its called quick saving. The guys at Crytek (that did the game) apparently thought it was a great idea not to include quick saving, even thouhg pretty much all first person shooters today have it. It is a mystery to me why they didnt ship this game with quick saving, but they didnt, and now they realize their mistake and have a patch with quick saving planned, genius. Anyway, as if the gameplay wasnt balanced well, then it tends up going over and over in the same track as well. First you have to find the girl, then you find her, then shes kidnapped, then you have to bomb something, then you have to find the girl, then she runs away, then you have to find her, then you have to bomb something, then......you get the idea. However, the gameplay isnt all bad. In some levels FarCry its amazingly fun. These are mainly the levels where you have entire islands to explore, and loads ways to handle the problems. There are lots of good ideas and leveldesign in FarCry, but overall then its just too unpolished gameplay wise, and they should obviously have used more time on polishing it, before they had it released.

Anyway (yay another anyway), FarCry is a pretty good game. The visuals are breathtaking and they alone make this game worth getting. However FarCry has been getting overhyped ALOT. Even though its graphics are superb, then the gameplay cant really match it, and the rather tedious multiplayer mode doesnt really add much either. But having that said, FarCry certainly have some levels that are totally kickass and well balanced, and are a joy to play, but there are just too many unbalanced gaps between these to make FarCry a bliss to play from start to finish.

FarCry - 4 out of 5 georfs

April 4th, 2004 - Aye
Its been a while since Ive updated, the reason for that is cuz the server on which the site is hosted, is being switched, and theres apparently some problems n' stuff. Anyways...

Last friday, me and about 20 other fellas from IO went to this urban combat thing for inspiration on the game were working on and stuff. There we had army instructors, teaching us some tactics, formations, how to move around, how to clear rooms and stuff like that. The area where we were was this small village like place, with loads of buildings, and some 2 story ones as well, very slick stuff to run around an have sum fun in. Then we also got M4s :D! (or some modified canadian version). Was totally kickass, especially since Ive never fired a gun before, and it was fun to actually feel the recoil and everything, was totally pwn on full auto, but it emptied the clips really fast. Sadly however, we only got to fire blanks, but it was still totally awesome, and i think i got to fire like around 200 rounds during the entire day. Then we slowly began setting up these small matches, where some of the guys were pretending to be enemies and went "attacking" us from all kinds of different positions (they had some guns that werent working all right, and some had sticks so that they looked more hostile ;D), where some of us (we were split into a small team, around 6 guys) then had to move around and clear buildings, and cover each other. Was really amazing, and just before we left then it really took off and we really worked well together, covering each others backs and moving from cover to cover :D

Anyway, the only bad thing about it was that I had to get up extremely fucking early (05:00) to be able to get into IO at time, where we had to drive with a bus to the army base place. And also, my fingers got all fucked up from loading ammo into the clips D:!~

Anyway, I picked up FarCry and Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow last week as well, mazzle reviews on those soon.

Scary Movie 3
Oh and a quick movie review, I was watching Scary Movie 3 the other day, fuck that movie sucks. During the entire movie there was only like 2 times where I almost laughed. Its just boring violence that tries to be funny, and its just that over and over. And when it makes fun of other movies then it doesnt really do it very funny or well for that matter. A sad part of the movie is where the comedian George Carlin is in it. Its sad because hes a brilliant comedian, but in this movie just taints his humour, sad panda D:!. Anyway, boring crappy movie, and a waste of time, dont watch it.

March 27th, 2004 - Mobilization O' Mazzle
I got Iceducks old Sony Ericsson P800. Some quite nice stuff, even though I was just a tad sceptical about a phone with so many capablities, since I just need a simple phone. Anyway, its quite funky and Ive already got it setten up and stuff, so kewl beanz. Also memorized the number which isnt too hard to remember.

Oh and I got a hold of Farcry, really kickass visuals. Gonna do a mazzle review on it soon, and Im prolly also gonna buy it next week when i get my paycheck :)

March 26th, 2004 - KICKOFF!
Okay, Mazzle review on Unreal Tournament 2004

When the original Unreal Tournament was released back in 1999 it changed multiplayer gaming. Its modes werent extremely original, but the style and feel of the game was amazingly cool and fresh, and unlike Quake 3 (which UT was up against back then) UT had an extremely cool style. When UT2003 was released it didnt really follow the line of flow that the original UT had started, the fresh and cool feel was replaced with a more linear and (in my opinion) boring feel. Even though it had amazing graphics, then the game never really got up on the side of the original.

Now Epic tries again with its third installment in the UT series, and this time they almost nail the fresh style that the original had, almost.

First off, UT2004 doesnt add that much new, but what it does add is pretty decent. Apart from having 100 maps, where around half of them are from UT2003 (you get all the maps from UT2003) and the other are new ones, then UT2004 adds the Assault and Onslaught modes. Assault is just like it was in the original UT, and has been added after Epic being flamed to death about not having it in UT2003. Onslaught is probably the most interesting new addition to UT2004. It is basically a quest for nodes, where the nodes are then linked together, and where you can only destroy the enemys base by having a node linked to the enemys base, forcing you to capture and destroy certain nodes, to gain the ability to destroy the enemys base. Thats all nice, but the really neat thing about this mode is that its got vehicles.

Overall the gameplay of UT2004 is nice, its not really a revolution, but the old modes (Deathmatch, CTF, Domination, Bombing Run) all work, and the newcomers (Assault and Onslaught) work very well too. Its good fun, and they also added some new remakes of some original UT maps, to spice up the style. The remakes aint all that well made, but the gameplay works, and thats what UT is really all about.

The visuals of the game is sort of a mixed bag. Some levels look really bad, while others look incredible. But overall they look nice, UT2004 isnt the best looking game out there overall, but it tends to look quite nice.

The audio side of the game is quite good as well. The music is really kickass. It provides some excelent actionpacked tunes for the battles, and really put you in the mood for playing. The sound is overall pretty good, as good as explosions and stuff like that can good that is.

So overall UT2004 is pretty good. Its not that Im totally crazy about it, but its good fun, and its got some qualities that UT2003 didnt have. And hey, if you didnt bother buying UT2003, then you'll basically get it free when you buy UT2004, since you get all the maps from it in UT2004.

March 24th, 2004 - JILL!!!!
Update, Iceduck didnt stay at the hospital for long, he got outta there yesterday and apparently he just has to eat sum stuff and rub sum stuff. Wutever.

Oh and I bought UT2004 a couple of days ago, just forgot to mention that. Mazzle review soon.

March 22nd, 2004 - Glifflcui
Just a quick update. Iceduck is pretty damn sick and has been taken to a hospital. Its not like lifethreatning, but hes pretty sick with some strange thingy stuff, i donno. More on this later, now i need to sleep :G

March 20th, 2004 - Charlie don' be surfin ey!
Okay, Battlefield Vietnam, lets get to it

First off, if you're used to Battlefield 1942 and Desert Combat then your initial impression might be that its nothing new, and simply put then it really isnt a huge revolution from Battlefield 1942, but that isnt really a bad thing :)

If you have been playing lots of Desert Combat then the addition of helicopters (which play a huge part in most of BFV's maps btw) shouldnt be too interesting, but since the helicopters are a bit easier to handle than in DC, and since you can sit from the choppers and shoot (with either the stationary guns or ur own gun) then they are alot more pwn in BFV. In BFV you can also grab vehicles (jeeps, tanks, boats, you name it) with a cable from your chopper and take em with you to the battlefield, which really kicks ass :D!. As I mentioned you can now shoot from vehicles and this adds a really awesome element to BFV, since jeeps suddenly become alot more powerful. Anyway, theres alot of new things in BFV, such as the ability to blast out music on speakers in vehicles, boats and choppers. While this sounds kickass (and BFV got an amazing soundtrack), then it also makes you alot more visible (or hearable) to enemy soldiers. Anyway, theres actually alot of new things in BFV, but the core gameplay is more or less the same. The main mode of play is Conquest where you battle for flags. Theres also a new mode called Evolution which is Conquest, but where results from previous matches go on. But the gameplay is a bit more infantry based in BFV, even with all the vehicles you can jump into. Especially support infantry have become alot stronger since they now wield a pretty good weapon + an anti tank weapon. Another new thing with infantry is that you can select between 2 weaponkits for each of the 4 classes. All these cover what was found in the original BF, but have gotten a bit stronger perhaps.

Visually the game looks great. Its not the best looking game ever, but every map looks good, and theres alot of variation in the maps. From jungles to citys to huge open areas, BFV got it all and it looks cool. Also the player models, vehicles and so on looks awesome. One thing that I also noticed is that BFV actually uses a fair amount of bumpmapping on alot of objects, and it provides an interesting look to it. Another new thing to the BF series is the grass that you can hide in, and theres loads of it, and it may save your life a couple of times if you can hide from tanks in it :D

As I already mentioned the music in BFV is amazing. It boasts some of the best music from the 60s, and it makes the game feel alot more alive and more like you're in the 60s, and the fact that you can pop on some Ride of the Valkyries and fly around Apocalypse Now style, makes flying in choppers alot more pwn. Also the voice commands have been improved with more choices between different commands.

And as Ive already been talking about, the gameplay isnt all that different from BF1942. Its mainly in the same style, but much improved and tweaked. There might be some small balance issues like the American side dont have any anti aircraft weapons, and it can be a bitch if a good pilot can avoid your antiground weapons. But overall the gameplay is awesome, its BF1942 but just alot better.

Oh and one last thing, BFV is a multiplayer game. DONT buy it to play it in singleplayer mode, because simply put the bots are terrible. They spawn......then wait.......and wait, and they may shoot at you if you walk past them but apart from that they just wait at their spawn place. BFV is one of the best games first person shooters ever in multiplayer, but if you judge it from the singleplayer only then thats hard to see :)

So all in all BFV is a great game that every BF1942 or DC fan should get NOW, and if you like cool first person shooters with vehicles then you should check it out as well ;)

Battlefield Vietnam - 5 out of 5 georfs

March 20th, 2004 - CRIGNOGYON!
I went to the store with some of the fellas from IO today to get UT2004, but all they had was the normal CD version. Thing is that theres a DVD version too, and instead of being on 6 CDs its on 2 DVDs, and theres lots of extra stuff on the DVD version too. But then later today after work I checked some other places and they said that they had sold out, and that like most of Denmark had sold out on the DVD version. Bummer :G

Oh yah, Battlefield Vietnam r0x, mazzle review tomorrow prolly

Oh and check this shit out. Some guys were watching it at IO today (a meeting actually ;D) and it totally owns, check trailer here. Sucks that you gotta pay for it tho D:!~

March 18th, 2004 - GOOOD MOOORNING VIEEETNAM!!1 EVR!!!~
Just wanted to update that Ive bought Battlefield Vietnam (I got the full demo Sunday, but it was too pwn and i had to get the real thing). It seriously pwnz in MP, gonna do a full mazzle review on it soon.

Oh yah, I HATE MY FCKN CPU FAN!! FCKN NOISY BASTARD!1!! >:(

Thats all for now

March 17th, 2004 - Eeeey!
Just wanted to post this movie

Kickass!

March 14th, 2004 - *Sigh*
Been having lots of problems with my home computer lately.

First off the cooler on my CPU has been acting extremely bitchy lately, suddenly stopping sometimes, and generally just acting like its fucky. The computer is running, although Im pretty concerned about it. Thing is, however, that Im probably gonna upgrade my CPU and motherboard soon anyway, so why go buy a new cooler now that I might not be able to use (or at least not as well) on a new CPU. Anyway, its a bitch, but I can live with it......for now.

But as if that wasnt enough, Ive got another prob. Ive recently been getting more and more mails. Even though some of these mails are virus mails, then most of them are mails from thingys that send back that say that Ive got a virus and that Im sending virus mails. At first I ignored it (being that Im so confident that I wasnt the problem, and that other people were fucking with me), but now Ive realized that Im the one with the virus. Anyway, the sucker is the I-Worm.Netsky.d worm, and Ive been trying to get rid of it but with no luck so far. Ive tried all kinds of so called removers for it, and some antivirus programs but without any luck either. Anyway, if you have had this worm, or have any idea how I can get rid of it, then please do send me a mail or goto my IRC channel to tell me how. Its extremely annoying to have this annoying virus making my mail getting filled with loads of pointless spam, so I would be extremely grateful for any help. :)~

Oh yah, gonna do a quick Mazzle review on Silent Storm here...

Anyway (;D), Silent Storm is a turned based combat game set in a sorta science fictionized World War 2. However, the game starts off pretty normal with you and your team of soldiers investigating some strange things going on. These things lead you around in Europe searching for clues on what later shows to be the development of a bigass battle armor thingy. Anyway, during the missions where you search for clues you're constantly in combat with german forces (or allied forces if you play as the germans). As I said, the combat is turned based, but dont let that scare you away. Silent Storm is extremely well done. Not only is the gameplay amazingly satisfying and filled with depth, but the graphics as absoultely amazing as well. Its got loads of nicely done outdoor maps, and the urban maps got the awesome feature of having totally destructable buildings (meaning that you can totally blow up entire buildings if you want to :D). But this not only looks cool, its extremely useful when you want a shortcut, or just want to take out an enemy on the other side of a wall ;D. Anyway, Silent Storm is huge, its got depth, loads of replay value, cool gameplay, and is all around a really awesome game. It can however get a bit frustrating from time to time, and the audio side of the game is a bit lousy compared to everything else. But if you like turned based combat games ala X-Com stuff then be sure to check this one out..

Silent Storm - 4 out of 5 georfs

Oh and speaking of worm...

March 9th, 2004 - Beams of joy!
Its been a nice creative day today. Peter (my master/slaveowner/partner at IO) was away today so I was setting the pace a bit more perhaps, and also had some rounds of UT2004 with the fellas. Also, when I was on my way to work, I met Janos Flösser (CEO of IO) and his daugther there. Was sorta surreal cause I was like standing in the exit space between the seating areas when he just came walking through. We then talked on our way inthere. Anyway, a really nice guy.

Oh, and Battlefield Vietnam is gonna be out in 1 week!

Oh and this is just scary D:! (you've been warned!)

March 7th, 2004 - Timor that ass baby!
Uhhhh.......Right. Anyway, I thought I'd just do a quick update on my map ts_supertimor winning the TS mapping contest (along with 2 other maps btw). Anyway thats It, and its a Sunday so Its work time tomorrow :D!

March 6th, 2004 - Sparkle!
Just a quick update (the site has been a bit thin on updates this week). Anyway, work is taking up alot of time, and when Im actually home then Im really tired and end up going to bed at like 22:00. Anyway, work at IO is cool. Obviously theres been alot of meetings regarding the Eidos purchase of IO, but Im slowly starting to get my hands dirty with some of the stuff I'll need to know to make stuff thar :D. Im also gonna be doing textures and shit, very funky! Anyway, everything is going pretty well except for that fact that I dont have much time at home to play games anymore, but I guess I'll have to live with not being able to spend entire days just playing games anymore :)

March 1st, 2004 - Oh Gee Oh Gee!
First off some stuff on my first day of work. At the first day of work I was supposed to get my computer, but the guys working on it apparently had some problems with installing some software on it, so I didnt get it the first day but it should be ready when i get back on Wednesday. Anyway, Peter told me about some tools and techniques and stuff like that, not extremely indepth but more like an intro to em. Then we also checked out some Hitman: Contracts stuff, which is looking quite the sex by the way. Anyway, not a very productive day, but a nice start where I could get a look into some of the stuff Im gonna learn.

If you havent seen the Oscars by now then you probably dont care, but anyway. Sorta sucked that Bill Murray didnt get one, but LOTR:ROTK certainly deserved all that it got (which was like....all).

Oh, and this makes Mazzle VERY happy ;D

February 29th, 2004 - And so it begins...
Thought I'd pop up and update the site. My grandmas funeral is on Tuesday, so I sent a mail to IO about it, and got an extremely nice reply where they said I could wait and start work on Wednesday or Thursday if I wanted some more time, really nice to know that they are this understanding. Im still going to start on Monday (tomorrow) though, because I just cant wait to get started! :D!

Anyway, other new stuff, the Academy Awards (Oscars) are tonight, a bit annoying that I cant stay up and see it with my work and stuff (Im not that much into it really, but I still think its fun to watch). Oh, and Bill Murray has to win the Best Actor Award, nuff said.

Oh and the demo of Colin McRae Rally 04 is really kickass, I strongly advice you to check it out if you're a sucker for cool racing games. I got some fluffle with the sound sometimes tho, seems to fuck up with the EAX thingy but I donno. Still r0x tho.

Oh and Ive been playing lots of Silent Storm lately, a really kickass game, gonna give a Mazzle review of it sometime soon.

Anyway, stay tuned for some info on my first day as a professional mapper when I update tomorrow :)

February 25th, 2004 - :(
My Grandma died earlier today. Its not that it came as a surprise, but its still sad :(

February 24th, 2004 - Hmmm
I was at the hospital today to visit my Grandma who isnt doing well (apparently shes dying D:!). When I was there she was sleeping (she was sorta drugged), so we couldnt really talk to her, but the fact that I had gotten loads of good news about the job at IO had made her really happy. Anyway, I guess its just a matter of time then D:

February 23rd, 2004 - STREEEETCH!
I was at IO today, signing some contracts and stuff. New stuff is that they changed my "trainee period" from 6 months to 2 years. Im most likely gonna be promoted before time (if I dont fuck up quickly and get fired ;D), but they just wanted to give me more time in case I needed it. Anyway, I also met the guy Im gonna be working with (really nice guy by the way), and we talked alot about techincal stuff. I also got told what Im going to be working on, but sadly I cant say anything ;). So yah, Im gonna start at work next Monday, so I better get used to going to bed early n' that sorta shit D:!

Oh and check this movie if you're danish :)

February 20th, 2004 - Quickie
Just a quick update, Im cutting off some of the news so that the main site isnt so fucking long :)~

You can check old news in the archives at the bottom of this site

February 20th, 2004 - EEEEEY
New official Battlefield Vietnam movie! CHECK IT!

February 18th, 2004 - Lets Donce
Im starting to sort of get over the shock of getting the job, so I thought I'd update the site :)

Anyway, I was watching Lost In Translation the other day. It focuses on how two Americans (Bill Murray, as a burned out action movie star doing Whiskey commercials, and Scarlett Johansson as the wife of a busy photographer who is sorta neglecting their marriage) meet and spend a week in what seems like a very foreign Tokyo. But further into the movie, when they start getting out of their hotel rooms, they start to have fun, and start to notice the beauty of what seemed very foreign and strange to begin with. Lost In Translation might move at a bit too slow pace for some people, but I found it very entertaining and interesting. Especially since it also looks at how weird Japanese people sometimes are, especially the scenes where Bill Murrays character is shooting the Whiskey commercials are awesome. Anyway, also a movie that shows that Sofia Coppola (who made the movie) has inherited some of her fathers talent in filmmaking.

Lost In Translation - 4 out of 5 georfs

Oh and other stuff~

Metroid Metal - Old Metroid music, done in metal! BST EVR!

Tic Tac Toe Advance
- 5 instead of 3 in a line :o

February 16th, 2004 - YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!!!!
I GOT THE JOB!!! :D!

I freaking got the job at IO :D! Its "only" just a trainee position, but considering that I still do have alot to learn about some things, then I think its perfect for now.

Gonna go sign some contracts on next Monday, damn this r0x!!! :D!

Oh and to make this post even pwner (cant top the job news tho :D), then Iceduck grabbed some of the TV show that showed some of my video portfolio, you can check the movie here.

February 14th, 2004 - YOSH!
CHECK RD & PIT's NEW FLASH INTRO! BST EVR!!!!

February 13th, 2004 - Nutter
Ive been playing the UT2004 demo a bit (if you dont know what Im talking about, then the UT2004 demo was released a couple of days ago). My first impression was extremely negative, the map quality is extremely low compared to UT2003's, and I know its just a demo, but even comparing the UT2003 with UT2004 demo's maps make it look crappy. Anyway, the maps look rushed, considering that I dont respect Unreal mapping at all (anymore), then the fact that the visual side of UT has somehow gotten worse with this new game is beyond me. Dont get me wrong by the way, I think UT2003 is an awesome game, its got some amazing visual qualities, and the gameplay is quite good too (classic stuff, you cant mess that up), but in my opinion UT2004 just doesnt seem like adds enough new stuff, other than the new Onslaught mode with vehicles, and the return of Assault. These new modes are nice, but Onslaught smells like Halo ripoff, and if you have just seen 1 pic of a Halo vehicle the you'll know what I mean. So obviously Epic dig Halos look and they ripped it, fine.

Anyway...

After playing it a bit more (I wanted to make sure I didnt judge it too fast), then I actually started liking it a bit. Of course DM and CTF works well, but after playing it a bit then the other modes started getting a bit more entertaining, but not entertaining as in being extremely well made, but more like entertaining as in a crappy mod thats fun to play. I have no respect for UT2004, but its silly fun. But lets see, they call this a Beta Demo, so the full game might be a bit better. Anyway, if you dont have anything better to do, then download it give it a try.

Anyway, other stuff:

EA is just begging to fuck up bigtime

Thief 3 site launches! :D
(Damn I hope they dont fuck Thief 3 up D:!)

Oh and Battlefield Vietnam is gonna be out in 1 month!!! (March 16th)

February 9th, 2004 - Right
A couple of months ago (end of October 2003) I sent my just completed video portfolio to a danish games n movies program on national TV where they also show stuff made by the users. Now, almost a half year later they showed it, just as I had totally given up on it. Not that it matters now anyway, yet still pretty cool, although the other content made by viewers is a joke to say the least (no h8 plz :D). Anyways, if you havent checked the video portfolio already then you can find it in the maps section, or just check the hi-quality version by clicking here.

Oh yah, the new DC is quite the sex actually. Even though it doesnt add any new maps or vehicles, then the optimizations done to the maps means that it runs ALOT better on lower end computers, and really demanding maps like Urban Siege runs quite well. Anyway, get it.

Oh and I also completed UFO: Enemy Unknown the other day, great game, but actually a tad short when you know the right strategy.

Oh and Ive been doing some modelling and texturing, trying to buckle up on some of my weak points.

Oh...........just wanted to say oh again D:!

February 6th, 2004 - Helloes
The new Desert Combat is supposed to be released today, so thats certainly worth looking forward to, should be out later today

Another thing, I found some pics from a model that the awesome 3DMike did, be sure to check it out (and be owned).

February 4th, 2004 - Cuz Sharing is Caring
Ive been playing quite a bit of UFO: Enemy Unknown (Aka X-Com UFO Defense). As I mentioned earler its an awesome game, so I thought I'd hook everybody else up with it. Check this site, here you can get all the X-Com games (Terror From The Deep and Apocalypse sorta sucks tho, only Enemy Unknown/UFO Defense rocks IMO.

Now play it!!! :D

February 3rd, 2004 - North Korea
I just found out (click here or here) that North Korea actually has a series of concentration/death camps (or rather more like a big one, shatter around a large area), designed to murder and hold those that are against its regime. I can't really say that it surprises me (sadly), North Korea has been fucked up for ages. Something has to be done about this though.

February 2nd, 2004 - Almond
I was in the urge for some old school Microprose gaming last night, so I found my UFO: Enemy Unknown disc and started playing. Even though the game was sorta fucked up in Windows (there were also some new bugs, like battles were instantly won, and scrolling around on the maps is near impossible cuz it moves so fast), then it reminded me that its one of the best Strategy games ever made. And the more you play the game that more you wonder why somebody with the rights for the Microprose games doesnt make a new one (that is good). A new game true to the original instead of trying to make different styles as seen in its sequels. Maybe replacing the turnbased battles with some sort of 1st/3rd person tactical shooter would work quite well if done correctly, i guess it will never happen though *sigh*.

February 1st, 2004 - Acorn
Here's some Xbox2 spec rumorish stuff (dont know how official this is :o )

Oh and I just want to say that I HATE people that use periods in the end of their sentences in IRC. That is all for today :)

January 29th, 2004 - Justice
This bitch is getting what she deserves!

January 27th, 2004 - FIFIFIFIFI!
Kill Bill Volume 2 teaser is out, you can check it here

Sucks that they changed the release date from Feb/March to April/May/June.

January 26th, 2004 - Tralalala
I dont really know why, but yesterday I got the urge to complete Opposing Force (the addon for HL nub) again, and so I did. I had totally forgotten that Opposing Force was actually released around the same time as CS, and that it came before the entire HL modding craze began. Anyway, holds up quite well, although the visuals seemed alot more impressive back then. Still, one of the best addons ever, just a shame that Gearbox is still making addons/porting games, they got lots of talent that is being wasted (Although I got a feeling they are brewing something of their own up at the moment :D).

Anyway, still no reply from IO, but it seemed like they were very busy atm so I guess I shouldnt read too much into it. I can wait ;)

So anyway, here are some links that MrH2O posted in the core earlier today:

Fart-O-Tron - Fart Soundboard. I was laughing my ass of for a couple of minutes when I first checked this out. I suppose Ive begun Immaturing D:!

Yeti Sports - Silly game where you gotta hit a penguin, niiice

Mars Rover Animation - Pretty cool animation with the Mars Rover

Bushie - Edited State of the Union speech (Part 2!)

January 25th, 2004 - (¦)~
I was checking out Pixar.com and I then checked the short movie Luxo Jr. and was reminded of how brilliant it is. The personality the lamps have is a stroke of genius, and its strange that its just now I notice that. Anyway, if you havent seen it (and damn you if you havent!) then check it here
.

January 22nd, 2004 - Day of days eh? :)
Well, just got back from the job interview at IO. Went quite well actually. Even though they were a bit concerned about my lack of singleplayer mapping experience, and the fact that I didnt do my own textures, then they overall seemed very impressed with my work. Now they are gonna think about it, then contact me again and perhaps set up another interview.

Anyway, the thing is that before the job interview I rated my chances alot lower than after it, so that means that I think I still got a pretty good chance. Besides, learning some scripting and making some textures isnt really all that hard IMO, modelling has been one of my biggest fears for years, and Ive finally learned how to do that. So, all I can do now is just wait and hear what they say :).
